Autism Speaks, founded in 2005 by Suzanne and Bob Wright, is the worlds leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention and treatments for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
Two Artists and
a Rock legend come together to bring awareness to “Artists for Autism.” (Raising funds for Autism Speaks and Project Lifesaver)
the summer of 2011 a chance meeting between jewelry and fashion designer Rich
Wright of Wrighteous Jewelry and John Rios, nationally known designer,
illustrator and Owner of Grafix Jam, Ltd. Launched an effort to create a series
of one-of-a-kind, custom designed guitars that the duo plan to use to bring
awareness and moneys to a few hand picked well deserving charities. The most
recent effort features none other than Outdoor Activist, Motor City Madman, Ted
Nugent. The guitar boasts custom sterling silver hardware, bear claw volume and

All proceeds from this guitar will go to Autism Speaks and Project
Lifesaver to help improve and provide services for those on the Autism
Spectrum. Autism is rising at an
alarming rate and it is imperative that we raise awareness and funds so that
these people can live as normal of a life as possible. Artists for Autism was created by a mother of
twin 5 year olds whom were diagnosed with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder,
an Autism Spectrum Disorder). The
connection between arts and autism is overwhelming, therefore it was decided to
create an organization that would combine the two.
Rich Wright of Wrighteous Jewelry was contacted by a very dear friend and
the idea began. 6 months of hard work on
design, creation and delivery between John Rios and Rich Wright brought us this
magnificent piece of art. No detail is
left unnoticed and you will never find another like this. With the outstanding graphics and the .925
Sterling Silver and the unique Bear Claw tuners this will be a conversation
piece for years to come.
There are also extras that come with this guitar such as a custom designed
guitar case, a custom guitar strap, the bandana that Ted Nugent used while christening
it and also the pick that he used. Own a
dynamic piece and help raise awareness as well.
A special thank you to Rich Wright, John Rios, Scott Noble, Peavey Guitars
and Ted Nugent for making this possible.
From Ted Nugent:
Nugent band is very proud that we can donate dozens and dozens of guitars to
meaningful children's and military charities across the land each year.
This very special one of a kind Peavey guitar is going for yet another very
important charity to help fight the fight against autism and assist those
battling this terrible disease. Peavey and the Nugent tribe are American
BloodBrothers for those in need.
Note: The remaining 35% of proceeds will be submitted to Project Lifesaver. Therefore, 100% of the funds will go to autism related service providers.
