OMC Shift Assist Module CDI Part # 123-9898-P New with 2 year warranty, This replacement module fits most OMC 4, 6 and 8 Cylinder engines with point type distributors 1982 through 1990 and will work with electronic conversions (see below).
Now, OMC owners can enjoy the benefits of converting to electronic ignition by installing this new, upgraded shift assist module specifically designed to function properly with electronic conversion kits!
If you own an OMC sterndrive equipped boat, you may have been told that you cannot convert your old points controlled distributor to a new, more dependable electronic ignition. Why? The stock OEM shift interrupter, which "burps" the ignition to allow you to pull your drive out of gear, won't refire an electronic ignition.
Note: OMC used several different style connectors in their wiring harnesses. By far and away, the most common is the round style of connector (please see second image) which is included with this shift interupter. If you happen to have the older T-style connector, you can still install this interrupter by removing the amphenol pins from the round style connector and re-installing them into your existing connector.
This Module will not work with any of the original OMC Prestolite Electronic or Delco Electronic Distributors.

Returns and Warranty Policies
If you are returning an item please call 1-800-332-9088 for return authorization. We will not accept returns without prior authorization. Absolutely no refunds on installed electrical parts.
Returns for Refund: A refund of a returned item, less original shipping costs, will be issued if return authorization is obtained within 14 days of purchase. The item being returned must be unopened, uninstalled and in resalable condition.
The refund will be for the item being returned less shipping cost. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
All items being returned for a refund will be subject to inspection. If the item being returned has been installed, damaged or the original packaging is damaged or marked and is not in resalable condition (i.e. torn, broken, written on, greasy finger prints, etc.) no refund will be issued.
Please use a suitable shipping carton to return items (do not use manufacture's packaging to ship).
