This is a great cookbook for the beginner cook before starting a family or when the last child has left home. For me, my husband had died and I didn’t know what to do with all the food my time-honored recipes provided. The recipes yields two large serving, one for eating and one for freezing. Beth provides background information that explain the recipe, and ingredients, and also gives variations. Her valuable hints are in a blue box set off by the color for reference ease. I have sent this cookbook as a wedding gift along with the Ninja 4 in 1 slow cooker for three couples. Both brides and grooms have given it enthusiastic reviews.
I was a little disappointed because I thought that since it was a cookbook for two it would have recipes for a small slow cooker but it mostly has them for the larger ones, therefore I have to cut the ingredients in half. Recipes are good ones though.

Slow cooking is perfect for a senior person, like myself, and especially if you have chewing problems, like myself. The meat comes out very, very tender and causes me no problems to eat. This book has excellent recipes for two people and, even if you're only one, you get two meals out of one recipe.
The book is designed for small crock pots; no need to recompute recipes designed for large families.
