Issued 1885, Gotha Germany by Perthes for Stieler

Fine antique engraved map, with original outline hand color. Made approximately 130 years ago. Printed in the mid-19th century, on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness.

A beautifully engraved and very detailed map of this region, with a profusion of details and small towns not often seen. The key identifies by color the various colonial possessions at this time.

In near VG or better condition, some light scattered foxing as typical [note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws]. The printed area remains visually pleasing, a nice impression of an interesting map.

First Class mail is the least expensive (and as such the slowest- at times taking 6-8 weeks) shipping option available but we are happy to upgrade your shipping method and can send you a invoice with the shipping upgrade on request (international priority mail starts at approximately $35.00 and will be calculated for your order).

All maps and prints are shipped well protected in sturdy tubes or flat via the U.S. Post Office.  All orders are shipped within 2 business days of payment receipt. Please be aware that once we have shipped your order we no longer have any control over shipping time or delays.
