The phone is very nice. Nokia has made a sleek and attractive handheld. The windows OS is different from what I'm used to but I love the tiles on my home screen. One drawback is the Marketplace doesn't offer a lot of free version of some of the most popular apps. The battery seems to last quite a long time. I'm a huge texter not one to talk on the phone. The battery doesn't seem extraordinary tho when I do use it for talk. I had never used a Windows phone before so for the money I paid I think it's a nice phone. So glad I bought it. I would recommend it to anyone who definitely isn't an Apple fan and wants an alternative to Android.
My general summary: better than an Android, not quite up to iPhone. Metro (or whatever they call it now) is a pretty clean UI. I like it better than Android, and wouldn't mind having this type of view on my iPhone. Generally solid feel to the device. Although the buttons are odd. If you want to be ironically different these days, this is a better alternative than Android to the iPhone. The MS Exchange client is probably better than iOS or Android, so if you are a heavy user of Exchange and don't want Blackberry cooties, this may be the ideal transition phone. I used this a few days and was happier using it than I was the last couple of Android devices. But I never bothered switching from my iPhone 4S (or whatever version of iPhone I had at the time). So if you don't want an iPhone and use a lot of Microsoft products, like Exchange and Office, you may like this better than any Android you're likely to find.Read full review
This is the best phone I have ever had. It is durable, beautiful, and does everything I could ever need. I haven't had any issues with internet, freezing, dropped calls or anything. I use a straight talk plan with mine and it is just awesome! I bought one for my daughter, and convinced my mother to get one as well since she was having trouble with her samsung. She loves this nokia and it is so easy to learn and navigate. Everything is so neat and you can organize it however you want. There are newer versions of this phone out now, but I haven't felt the need to upgrade. This phone is one of the best. Awesome camera too that I print pictures that come out great! You won't be disappointed with this phone.
I bought this phone about a month ago. When I purchased it, it was a new phone that had not been used but it was manufacturer refurbished to repair a broken speaker. I have not had a single problem with this phone. I am using it on Straight Talk service and using AT&T towers. I get full service, 4G coverage, SMS, MMS, Marketplace, etc. All of the features work and since they work perfectly on Straight Talk, they will also work just as well, if not better, on Straight Talk. It works perfectly, it's fast and it has everything I could want in a phone and it has every app I could want. The battery is great. I text all day, use twitter, email, internet and I never need to charge it during the day. It's simple to use and is definitely comparable to iPhone and Android.
If one has never owned an iPhone, then the Lumia 900 is a good starter phone. For those that have owned an iPhone, do not get the 900. I made this mistake and now I'm even contemplating getting an Android product. I've always liked iPhone except I need a bigger screen. The Lumia has a nice screen size and is bright but its layout and lack of apps is very sad. Microsoft wants to charge for the most basic apps like VLC player ($2.99) which is free at the app store. As far as I can tell, there is no support for .flac. And as far as syncing your content, its not easy. Im not here to defend Apple, they should have come out with some bigger phones long ago. But I will say that there GUI is so much easier to work with. I could go on and on about the pitfalls of the Lumia versus the iPhone 4s.. but I've got things to do today. Buyer beware about this phone. Its not crap but it is certainly not an iPhone. Here's looking to buying a Samsung Galaxy Note 2.Read full review
