Night Owls very from unit to unit. Focus seems to be the main issue and many units cannot focus from close end to stars or always in between. The first thing you should do when you get a pair (after dark) is go outside and see if you can vary the focus and cover from close to stars. Only 1 out of 2 from factory can do this. If the unit fails you should get it replaced. If the unit passes you are good to go. But with one very important warning. These are not PVS7s and will not withstand ever being dropped. If you drop them the focus is toast and cannot be repaired. Many of the units online seem to be factory returns and have focus issues. If you get a unit and is clear..... take good care of it and do not drop or jar it and be well worth the investment. They perform about 65% as well as a PVS7 Gen3. If you need a unit that can withstand bumps and jars. Save up your money and get PVS7s built to with stand military abuse handling. If you can treat these with TLC, they are worth the savings for the caution. Read full review
