....Is very nice. I saved about $60 by buying one that had some dings, and I had to re-space the controls because the knobs rubbed, but other that that is an excellent guitar. Not what I would consider low-end anyway. I know these and Jay Turser's are made by the same place, probably so are a few other names, but this is a decent guitar for the price. I upgraded the pickups to Calig Heavy Rail pickups with Nd magnets, and it just screams now. If you're looking to save some money but not go as low as Wally-World price and quality, this guitar should serve you well.

This is an awesome guitar!!!! You can not go wrong, I have Gibsons and Heritages and this guitar is up there with them. The tone knobs really alter the sound, as do the volume knobs, you can get the woman tone out of this guitar, the pickups are good, they will distort without distortion on your amp, but are crystal clean with just a little roll back. It has bite but can be subtle and mellow too. It is very responsive, saying a lot for under $200. Fret work is all good as is finish, tuners are good, stays in tune, intonation was spot on out of box, may fiddle with string action a little for my style of playing, but it was very playable out the box, absolutely no buzzes, and no fretting out on any two or three tone bends. Binding good, a little overspray of the gold top on binding on side of neck, but in not a major issue at all. No case or bag, but does come with decent 10' cord and an allen wrench, but neck did not need any adjustment, but good to have right size for adjustments down the road.Read full review

The finish on the whole guitar is outstanding! It goes without saying that it will need to be tuned as soon as you unbox it. Although it plays nicely and has acceptable action right from the start, it will benefit from a good setup. I brought mine to the local music store and let their tech handle that. I asked them to put 9's on for strings, but I regret having done that as they're a bit too slinky and I plan on switching to 10's which I'm sure the guitar was strung with at the factory. Also I'm switching to D'addarios with a wound 3rd. To me an unwound 3rd always sounds so wonky and is hard to keep in tune. All in all, it was love at first sight with this guitar and I consider it to be one of the best and smartest purchases I've ever made!!! The only other changes I plan to make on it are better pickups, however, the stock pickups sound pretty decent. I'm plugging up to a Behringer 45 watt keyboard amp and it sounds very good through that. I'm happy!!! If you're a beginner on guitar, as I am,, then this Oscar Schmidt OE20 is definitely the right guitar for you!!!Read full review

The OE20G is an a great budget rocker. The construction is grade A. The finish is excellent. The neck plays well and the weight is what I expected, a bit lighter than a Gibson. Straight out of the box this guitar is very playable. Plugged into my Fender Mustang practice amp it sounds pretty good. I have ran it through my Carvin Bel Air yet but I'm sure it will sound good through that with the stock pickups. I will eventually replace these with some custom wound pickups. The tuning keys keep it in tune unless you bend the wink donuts out of the strings like me. Already have have locking tuners on order. Overall this a great guitar for the price and it is flat out gorgeous in person.

I saw one of these on YouTube and I figured that I couldn't really go wrong. I was going to switch the pickups, the tuners and pots regardless. It is very well crafted. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. It sounds great just as it is but I can make her really shine by switching out the parts I've already mentioned. I'm a bass player but I wanted a guitar to record with and I need that full Les Paul sound. I'm more than pleased. In fact I'm going to purchase another one in a different color.
