GOOD SAW - RARELY BREAKS BLADES
I have used the Makita saber saws for years - they work great. There's the aggressive setting option - orbital, there's support for the blade (I used to break blades all the time with other brands). Makita has a reliable motor. Blade is easy to change and blade holder is secure. The motion of the blade is precise and smooth with a counter balance. As with all saber saws and reciprocating saws there is a danger of blade "walking" - a reality which has to be watched and dealt with by adjusting speed, orbital and force. This is a good value.

Excellent cutting.
I use this for the first time cutting a sink base on a counter top. The saw cut in a straight line with no problems. I also own a Ryobi jig saw that has caused me nothing but grief since I have owned the saw. I think I will box it up and send to Ryobi letting them know they should do a comparison test with the Makita. If you purchase this Makita product you will be pleased with the cutting results and thankful you did not purchase another brand.
