The speed of the Quad 400 is great and it packs a real punch too. The weight and overall size are on the big side, but you can see that in the specs. The only real negative I have is the 4X32 scope tends to shoot low at any yardage. I noticed this even after the scope is adjusted as high up as possible, but its a popular complaint with a very easy and cheap fix. The fix is to shim the back screw on the scope rail with at least one flat washer maybe two depending on individul circumstance. Overall I love this crossbow and would recommend to anyone. You wont find this kind of power & speed in any other crossbow thats in the Quad 400 price range.
I bought the Barnett Quad 400 package several weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on it. It has a Barnett scope complete with mounts ready to install. The Quad 400's size is perfect for carrying in the field of roughly weighs 7 pounds. My only complaint is that the factory alignment was not 100% accurate. This is the first crossbow I've owned have had no trouble with assembly or sighting in . Overall, I'd recommend the Quad 400 package if you're looking for a quality crossbow at a great price.
For a first time owner of a crossbow, this one seems pretty easy to use. The crank is a bit tempermental, but it just needs a little patience. The red dot scope will take some getting used to, but it's a little like my compound bow. Will need a lot of practice!
The Barnett crossbow quad 400 is an awesome crossbow not as heavy as the other crossbows and Shoot Straight can't ask any more than a bow than that I am very happy with it

Michigan changed its laws and now allow anyone over 50 to hunt with a crossbow. I am left eye dominant and am right handed so I shoot left handed. I found that shooting a bow lefthanded was too difficult to manage so for years I didn't hunt during bow season. I bought this Barnette Quad 400 and had it set up and sighted in putting 3 inch groups at 40 plus yards in very short order. I made my first deer kill with it a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. Very accurate and everything I need to take big game animals. Through and through shot with severe internal damage to vitals. I couldn't ask for more. My best suggestion is get the bow cocking rope and a sling to carry as it is a little hefty. Then get out in the woods in the nice fall weather and enjoy
