ALL ABOARD the
NEW YORK, NEW HAVEN & HARTFORD RAILROAD!!
Collect-a-thon is pleased to offer this superb, beautifully detailed UNCUT sheet of uncancelled tickets for travel aboard the New York, New Haven & Hartford RR in 1886.....122 years ago!!!
Issued by the East Tennessee, Virginia & Georgia Railway, this set of ornately designed First Class Tickets was good for travel between New Haven, Connecticut and Williamsburg or Williams Bridge (?) New York.
Each ticket also bears the imprinted name of all other stations on the route: Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Southport, Westport, South Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, Port Chester, New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, and Mount Vernon.
One section of the route was operated by the New York Transfer Co. (which is stamped over the New England Transfer Co.). That section is from Pennsylvania R.R. Depot to N.Y., N.H. & H. RR Depot. We believe this was for a trolley connection between depots in New York City!
Condition is pristine and flawless but for a very light fold along the perforation line between 2 tickets, a tiny punch-hole at the very bottom and one rounded corner at the bottom left. Very very rare this mint!!
Bears the Stromberg Improved Coupon Ticket Patent, 1878. Measures over 12.5" long!! AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PIECE OF NEW YORK/CONNECTICUT RAILROAD MEMORABILIA! Collector Value: $150.00. Buy Now at $29.95. SAVE 80%!!!!
