Over 100 Touring professionals have made the switch to Miyazaki premium golf shafts in the past year.

Upgrade your Driver / Fairway Wood with a True Tour Quality Shaft and light weight Lamkin Miyazaki performance plus grip. You are viewing the LATEST & GREATEST Driver Shaft to hit the market!

This is a BRAND NEW 100% AUTHENTIC MIYAZAKI DROMOS 72X Series Premium XTRA STIFF flex shaft.

Each Miyazaki Shaft Has it’s own unique serial number.

THE NEW DROMOS SERIES

The Miyazaki DROMOS™ series was engineered to have a superior multi-axis consistency to become the ultimate upgrade for modern adjustable drivers.

Inconsistencies in some graphite shafts can lead to “spines” or axes of enhanced or reduced stiffness. Depending upon the shaft’s orientation in the hosel sleeve, these inconsistencies in stiffness can negate or exaggerate the trajectory adjustments afforded by adjustable drivers.

The Miyazaki DROMOS™series is the first Miyazaki design to utilize QUAD ORTHOGONAL BIAS technology. This technology strategically orients the origination and termination axes for each layer of carbon fiber to effectively eliminate the “spine” effect. The result is consistent feel and predictable performance regardless of orientation in an adjustable driver.

Tour - Over 100 Touring professionals have made the switch to Miyazaki premium golf shafts in the past year.

ORIGINS OF MIYAZAKI:

Miyazaki is a new, exclusive graphite golf shaft brand forger from over 20 years of graphite shaft innovation and development for Japan's #1 Metal-wood brand. Our advanced manufacturing facility has designed and produced more ultra-premium graphite shafts than any other facility in Japan in the past decade. Though our advanced performance designs and technologies have previously been offered within Asia, the launch of Miyazaki will make these precisely constructed designs available to discerning golfers everywhere.

Considered one of the fastest growing shafts on golf’s global tours since their introduction in May of 2009, Miyazaki Shafts has posted several wins on worldwide tours. Players such as Vijay Singh, Kevin Stadler, Roland Thatcher, David Toms, Boo Weekley and Gonzalo Fernandez Castaño, as well as many others worldwide, have made the switch to Miyazaki Shafts. These shafts are continuously tested in competition by a rapidly growing number of some of the best players in the world. Unique bending and torsional flex code profiles of each shaft are geared toward ball speed and launch condition optimization for each player type.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:

Miyazaki Golf Shafts is driven by the science and artistry of the golf swing. The shaft is the delivery vehicle of the modern golf club and Miyazaki Shafts places the highest premiums on performance, consistency, and effective fitting. Without optimized and consistent delivery of the clubhead to the ball, significant performance potential is lost with every impact. Miyazaki Shafts designs and specifies shafts using a superior approach to quantifying the actual bending and torsional flex profile of each shaft. Miyazaki Shafts has designed a proprietary International Flex Code™ fitting system which replaces the archaic specifications of frequency, kick point, and torque to give professional fitters and golfers alike a more detailed insight into the specifics of their current shaft and each Miyazaki Shafts design. Miyazaki Shafts utilize the highest grade carbon-fiber materials available to produce innovative bending and torsional profiles geared toward specific player types. Each shaft is precisely constructed to some of the industry’s tightest tolerances to ensure consistent delivery characteristics on each and every shot.

MANDREL

At the core of each Miyazaki is a precisely machined, tapered steel rod called a Mandrel. The Mandrel defines the inner profile of the shaft and is the foundation from which each Miyazaki is constructed. Each shaft produced requires a single Mandrel to which concentric layers of carbon fiber are applied in a calculated pattern. The shape of the Mandrel properties and orientation of each layer of carbon fiber ultimately determine the specifications and performance of the design.

RAW CARBON FIBER STRIPS

Each Miyazaki is created using multiple layers of carbon fiber strips. These strips are made up of carbon fiber strands that are embedded into a thin, but extremely strong resin to produce a composite sheet material called “pre-preg” (resin-impregnated carbon fiber). During the design process of a Miyazaki, the stiffness of each carbon fiber layer is carefully selected and ultimately applied in a specific orientation along the shaft. Fibers oriented down the length of the shaft provide bending stiffness while fibers inserted at diagonal or perpendicular angles will provide torsional stability or resistance to cross sectional deformation (“ovaling”) during the swing. Each Miyazaki will be made up of ten or more individual carbon fiber strips.

ROLLING

To make a Miyazaki, each layer of carbon fiber is positioned on a specific axis and then rolled onto the Mandrel in a predetermined sequence. The first layer is applied directly to the steel Mandrel with subsequent layers applied concentrically to create a system of carbon fiber. Each layer is applied to the Mandrel by hand and a high pressure rolling press ensures the layer is free of wrinkles, bubbles, or voids.

HIGH TENSION WRAPPING AND CURING

After each layer of carbon fiber has been sequentially rolled onto the mandrel, a clear film is wrapped in high tension onto the shaft to remove gaps between each layer. This tightly would film ensures the integrity of the shaft is maintained throughout the high temperature curing process.

FILM REMOVAL AND MANDREL REMOVAL

After each Miyazaki is oven-cured to stiffen the resin, the tightly would film is removed. Next, the shaft is loaded into a pneumatic machine that ejects the steel mandrel to leave the raw hollow shaft.

PRECISION GRINDING AND VIBRATORY CLEANING

After the mandrel is removed from the shaft, the raw shaft is loaded into a proprietary precision grinding machine. The grinding process is tuned to ensure the consistency of the flex profile, balance point and weight of each shaft. This is one of the most critical steps in making a Miyazaki. Once the shaft has been precision ground to exacting tolerances, the shafts are loaded into a vibratory bath. The solvent in the bath cleans the graphite and prepares each shaft for inspection and our innovative cosmetic process.

SHAFT ANALYSIS LABORATORY

The Miyazaki factory houses an advanced laboratory that microscopically inspects each Miyazaki design to ensure the layers of carbon fibers are properly aligned and void-less. In some graphite shafts, you can see wrapped layers, bubbles, or other voids in the cross-section. Voids can create axes of variance in stiffness called “spines” or can otherwise reduce the structural integrity of the shaft. Miyazaki takes pride in creating precision shaft designs that push the limits of consistency and weight reduction.

GRAPHITE ARTISTRY

The golf swing is individual, precise and artistic. Miyazaki believes a shaft should share the same qualities. They’re designs are the result of collaborations with global artists. Just like they’re drive to improve performance, Miyazaki intends to push the limits of shaft aesthetics. The process starts with an idea. The idea inspires original artwork such as sketches and paintings. This artwork is carefully transferred to a digital file and eventually projected onto a trapezoid shaped template that mimics the tapered profile of each shaft.  The final artwork is transferred to a thin film which is ultimately wrapped onto each shaft.

At the MIyazaki factory, a ultra-thin layered system of paint is robotically sprayed onto each shaft. The artwork film is applied over the painted shaft before the final clear coat is applied.
