This is the front axle set which consists of two front carbon ceramic discs.

Starting with the Enzo in 2002, Ferrari was the first car manufacturer to supply carbon ceramic brakes as standard on its road cars.

One of the most obvious advantages to using these brakes is their exceptional fade resistance. Steel brakes tend to fade when temperatures rise toward the higher limits. At a stage this fade becomes a factor in driver feel. The amount of pressure needed on the brake pedal compromise responsiveness and the driver feels he can not slow the car anymore.

Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brakes never fade, and also have longer life during normal conditions, giving also excellent durability and great resistance against premature wear during track use.

Another plus point is the weight saving from fitting CCM brakes. About 15 kg or 33 lbs is removed from the car when fitting CCM's.As the brake system is located inside the wheel, it makes up a part of the 'unsprung' mass of the vehicle. The lighter the unpsrung mass, the more control the shock absorber has over the wheel and the better handling becomes. The lighter rotational weight leads to better acceleration and stopping.
