I tried getting a cheaper usb controller for less money and the D-pad didn't work properly, when moving right or left the character would move down so I spent a few extra bucks and got the retrolink which works perfect, good buttons, 90% feels like the original snes controller and 100% works great with no problems.

I was excited to use this controller and it looks perfect. Feels great in the hand. And, I must admit, I only tried one specific unit, so it's possible this item will be fine for other people, but the unit I received had problems from the beginning 10 minutes. It worked sporadically. The controller just didn't perform 100% of the time properly. It worked fine most of the time, and then for many attempts, it wouldn't respond well. I liked the fact that it looks authentic like the old-school NES controllers. But looks are not the most important thing. (If it is, then yes this model is what you'll want, such as to make a belt buckle or something like that.) Spend a couple dollars to get a better quality performing controller like the INNEX one which my vendor also carried. That one works great even though it doesn't look like the old NES ones.Read full review

If you want a controller that feels like the original SNES controller, this is NOT that controller. It's very stiff and half of the time when you hit right or left, it registers up and down as well, which makes most gams impossible to play. Also, with Steam and other programs, since this controller is recognized as a 2 axis controller(NOT one axis with buttons), Steam won't recognize some features and causes a lot of trouble. I actually have video evidence of me playing with this controller on my Twitch account and the Start button causing random issues! The first time I played, the Start button caused the emulator to resize from 3x to 4x and back. After reconfiguring the controller, the start button turned on and off the sound. So these have a mind of their own and are totally not good for anything. Don't waste your money on these.Read full review

I plugged in two SNES controllers, one used and one never used before. They both had the same issue... the device does not recognize the Start button! I tried every emulator I had, I tried it on Steam and nothing worked. It's as though the device just doesn't recognize it being there at all! I had to use a keyboard for mapping the start button. This makes playing games insanely difficult and completely renders the product useless. I would try a different product for sure.

It is plug and play which is nice. The shoulder and round buttons work quite well. The big issue is the d-pad. It barely functions at all and when it does it's usually not what I intended to push. Bought this specific model because other reviews had said it was decent for the money but it really isn't worth anything.
