This is a delightful romantic comedy. Jennifer Aniston is perfect as the self-absorbed over-achiever trying so hard at everything that she never achieves what she wanted in the first place. Kevin Bacon is flawless as the excessively vain, shallow, two dimensional executive who only wants what he shouldn’t have and when he gets it immediately loses interest. However for me the real star is Jay Mohr playing the quiet, understated photographer who is wily enough, innocence notwithstanding, to be at all the right/wrong places to make this plot work. The reunion at the end of the movie could have had more impact, but leaves the viewer satisfied with the faux couple together for real…. at last.
I enjoyed watching this movie. Kate Mosley is an Ad Executive for this firm and the Senior Executives have some hope for her however somewhat disappointed that she is not married. They believe that being married shows maturity, balance and committment. Kate, played by Jennifer Aniston, decides to place an Ad for man to be her 'fiance'. Nick, who is a wedding photographer and videographer meets Kate. He really likes her and doesn't really want to do it for $1,000. Nick stays at Kate's place where Kate's mom calls and ends up speaking to Nick. They hit it off very well. Kate and Nick go to a special dinner sponsored by her executives and have the opportunity to meet Nick. Kate had intentions that they (Kate & Nick) would get into a big fight at the table and break off the engagement. It doesn't go as planned. Nick is played by Jay Mohr and he is really cute. Kevin Bacon is another QT and he plays Sam Mayfair who has the hots for Kate.Read full review
