New Loar LM-220-VS A-Style Mandolin + Travel Case
(All Solid Hand Carved Spruce & Figured Maple)
Will
the Loar people really have out done themselves. One of the
Loar luthiers finally realized there was a recession on, and decided to
make a professional level mandolin, at a price regular people could
afford. So if the Loar LM700 is stretching your pocket book too far,
then relieve the strain with the Loar LM-220, it sounds just as good.
Even has a little more bark than the LM-400. The Loar LM220 is all hand
carved and precisely designed for the most woody sound and resonance possible.
The top is hand carved and Fully Graduated Solid spruce, the back is
hand carved and Fully Graduated solid maple. The top is fitted
with scalloped X-bracing just like the fancy $4,000 Weber mandolins.
It has a double adjustable truss rod,
polished bone nut, Engraved tuners, ebony compensated bridge, and a beautiful Poly-Nitrocellulose sunburst Finish. Neck feels very comfortable with a 1 1/8th inch polished bone nut and low action. So there is plenty of room for your fingers on this baby. The sound is very woody, with killer volume, and a great feel to the neck. You could use this mandolin in your favorite bluegrass band, it will hold its own, or your local chamber orchestra. It is just that versatile. This mandolin will ship Fedex
insured inside the US, and US Priority International mail outside the US
in the travel gig bag shown. I double box when I ship also.
Condition: This mandolin looks and plays beautiful. It has a fresh setup and new strings. Structurally it is very sound too. There is a flaw in the finish by the lower part of the treble side F-hole. There is a crack in the finish about 2 inches long. You can see it in the pictures. This minor issue doesn't hurt playability and this baby sounds great. The mandolin in the picture is the one you receive.
