Motorola Brute is not really a Sprint phone it's a Nextel. Different type of coverage from what I was told by the Sprint representative. The phone itself looks sturdy and relative ease to handle. The charge port is somewhat difficult to find if you never had experience with it (on the right hand side of the # key, use your nail to take off the grey rubber off). Walkies talkie features are very easy to use because the buttons are right on top of the phone. Don't expect to surf the web with this phone, not strong enough to handle websites. The screen is adequate and the camera is good for taking pictures of people for sharing and/or phone screen background.
Great upgrade from the i680. Luv the phone. There are a couple of issues with using Boost Mobile. Must check the sim card you are transferring from old phone. If it is the round type a message appears "insert sim" Had to replace sim with the square type and that seems to have corrected that problem. The second problem is that it says "you are not allowed to text." This has yet to be resolved. The phone could be too new and Boost has not caught up yet. But, you can receive texts. Other than those glitches it is a great phone.
I bought this phone because it was an upgrade from an old phone. I really like the phone texting quality is great! It is really good because I work construction jobs and the phone is durable. The phone has wireless email which is good and the antenna is built in which is another plus. It takes better pictures than my older phone which is so much better. It is a great phone overall!
I bought the Motorola i860 Sprint Phone as a Chrostmas gift for my husband. It arrived in early January 2011. Although the phone has great features such as camera, video camera, and speakerphone, etc, it's batter lifespan is not very good. If it is left one all day, even if not used, it generally requires charging every 24 hours. However, even worse than that is that we bought it for it's supposed ruggedness and in less than two weeks, the screen on the phone quit working. The display is like looking at a cracked mirror. The advertisement for the phone leads one to believe it to be similar to the Timex watch whose saying is "It takes a licking but keeos on ticking". My husband dropped this phone on our dirt driveway, and this was the result. Ebven his old Motorola took more of a lickoing than this one. This phone is definitely "cracked up" and not as durable as advertised.Read full review
