I decided to buy this phone when I realized that I'm doing more text messaging lately and I've been using the old 'tap each number three times' to get the letter that's needed. I've used a Razr since they first came out. I didn't want a smart phone (data plans, you know), but it had to have a qwerty keyboard and it had to have large numbers and good size buttons for this senior's eyes. The Motorola Rival fills the bill quite nicely. I like the phone very much. The slider works smoothly and the keyboard is exactly what I want. I've owned the phone for about two months now and have had no problems as yet. It does have a sort of semi-touch screen. You have to bring up a virtual phone pad to make phone calls that are not in your contact list, and so far, the touch screen has worked without any hitches. There are some cons, however. The touch screen aspect is very sensitive and I find myself having to remember to keep from touching certain parts of the phone. Also, the backlight on the qwerty keyboard is not very bright so it is hard to text in dim light. I have to be careful how I 'dial' numbers as well, although I don't use the virtual phone pad very often. These things are just minor concerns to me. All in all, though, I really like this phone and would recommend it to others!Read full review
This is an awesome phone for girls! I don't know if a guys fingers could type on this keyboard. Works great; color change to function/number keys is cool; and easy to see. Love the keyboard. Not entire touch screen; but the buttons that are touch sensitive work great. The numberpad for dialing is touch sensitive and also works great. Screen is small but looks very nice. Have a pic of my pups on it and is very clear. Camera not so great; but works for quick shots. If you want a phone for Verizon and do not want to pay the high expense of the internet; this one is great! Only con to this phone is that it is allll plastic; so has that cheap feel to it. Other than that, works great and looks great. Got a case to fit it perfectly with a wristlet; so you can carry it on your wrist or hang on your purse; very convenient.Read full review
I bought this product as a replacement for my old Samsung Juke. Pros: This phone has many nice features such as the touchscreen and the full QWERTY keyboard. It's not too bulky and comes in many nice colors. Cons: In reality, the buttons on the keyboard are too small. You must be extra careful when typing to avoid typos. I have average sized hands, and I find myself pressing two keys at once many times. Another thing that I found disappointing on this phone was that the touchscreen did not work for all features. You can dial with the touchscreen, but the touchscreen will not work with navigating the menus. I don't see the point in having a touchscreen if it won't work for all browsing aspects of the phone.
Pros: Camera/ Video (Good Quality) Slider with qwerty keyboard Cases are reasonably priced large screen large selection of themes bluetooth capable durable (dropped several times without breaking) reasonably priced Cons: Prone to breaking, but easy to fix (ex. screws came loose) limits texts that when reached phone shuts off only when not on auto-erase it would be nice if the touch screen functioned as a keypad buttons at times hard to push (Limited problem) Overall a good functioning phone with many possibilities. While the phone does have problems, the functionality and practicality far outweigh the cons. A great phone for anyone who texts frequently or anyone who likes a solid slider phone with a good recording camera/ video feature.
I bought this phone used on eBay to use with Page Plus I get mobile web, mms, text and talk. It works great. Good call sound no distortion. I thinks it is easy to use I had a smart phone that used a lot of data this is what I needed. It has everything I wanted. So far so good. After using for a while I found you can not take a picture and set it to a contact, I thought that was a basic thing you can only use the ones that are preset in the phone. My phone is draining the battery everyday I bought a new battery and it still does it. There is a lot of clicking to get to do anything on the phone.
