Luckily I did my research ahead of time. I sampled Beats by Dre and was going to buy them. Came across the Monster Ntune headphones and couldn't tell the difference. These headphones are great, great sound quality, great bass quality and comfortable to workout with.

The sound quality is good. Not excellent, but good. Build quality is a mixed bag being that they're extremely comfortable to wear but have an inherent design flaw leading to the infamous breaking (snapping in two) of the headband itself.

The Monster NCredible Ntune headphones are a definite good buy for the money when compared to the popular Beats by Dr. Dre Solo headphones. The bass is just as powerful, and without the battery amplified boost, more natural, in my opinion. The sound is loud, yet clear and non-distorted. These are great headphones for Rock, Hip Hop, and other bass driven musical genres. And since they are lightweight and sturdy, I recommend these "cans" for working out in the gym, where the noise canceling feature can truly be appreciated.
First I thought it would be one of those cheap headphones hiding behind the famous name who made it popular, but I was definitely mistaken. It has the same or competitive sound quality like the unbelievably expensive models. So, I would say that it's a real score if you purchase this product, it has a more reasonable value than the other brands and similarly stylish as well with great sound quality and a comfortable fit.
I'm an audiophile and most of my favorite headphones are Sennsheiser; I own a variety of theirs in both open back and closed styles going back 20+ years and mostly in the $250-$500 price range. For those who want a fun, nicely balanced bassy headphone (with some added crispness to compensate for the bass bump) that sound great at reasonable volumes, these fit the bill perfectly. The sound isn't neutral, but it's more engaging and honestly what a lot of people prefer. Plus they do a great job of passive noise cancellation! The on ear product that Beats had Monster produce in early gens were muddy garbage that I did not find acceptable--do not apply those experiences to this product. I also tune car audio, and this is the exactly type of sound that people who want a balanced fun sound (detail with clean, visceral "thump" and weight) are thrilled when I can produce for them at reasonable power levels to overpower road noise (110db range type of tuning level).Read full review
