About our Yummy Prints

Our edible images are printed using edible ink on edible wafer and is produced with FDA approved ingredients [potato, water and vegetable oil].  They are also classified by the FDA as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe). 

 Edible Image Features

  • No backing sheet; no time wasted ripping image trying to remove from backing sheet 
  •   Simply cut around image into ANY shape you want!  Round, square, heart-shaped, etc.
  •    Dissolves in water, not on cake or icing
  •    Colors won't blur or run from melting on cake 

Please be aware that our edible images can sometimes vary in color versus what is seen on your computer monitor.

Yummy Prints Edible Image on Cake

It will stick well to iced cakes as long as it is applied to fresh icing. Normally you would not want the icing too wet. If you plan to use a whipped cream or other icings with a lot of water, we recommend coating the back with piping gel to seal out the water. Also, coating the top with clear piping gel will make a glossy type picture rather than a matte type.

Remember that our edible toppers are water soluble (will dissolve in water.)  Always keep your hands dry when handling the cake topper.  It is also somewhat fragile, avoid bend the topper, as it may crack.

Store your edible yummy print at room temperature, in its sealed packaging, away from direct light.  It will keep like this for at least one month.  DO NOT REFRIGERATE the edible image until ready to use.

If cake and icing are refrigerated  or frozen, or the icing is Dairy Cream or Whipped Cream based, apply at 1/8‚Äù thick coating of white piping gel to the back side of the edible image paper.  This will help prevent the topper from lifting or buckling on a cold surface.

If piping gel is NOT used on the back of the edible cake topper, avoid refrigeration after the cake is decorated.  Refrigeration may cause the edible cake topper to buckle.  If this should happen, allow the cake to come back to room termperature and smooth out the topper with a dry flexible spatula.

Scroll around the edges of the edible image immediately after placing on the icing.  This prevents the edges from lifting and frames the topper nicely.

Always use WHITE icing.  Any other color will distort the existing colors printed on the edible cake image.  Most of the pre-mixed icing in the tubes work well.  Use a serrated knife to cut cake.

Yummy Prints Edible Image on Cookies

There are several ways to stick our product to cookies. Normal icing, royal icing, or corn syrup thinned with a little water will stick the image to a fairly flat cookie. If the finished cookie is fairly light colored the best way is to coat the uncooked cookie with a little egg white and apply the image to the uncooked cookie and cook normally.

Yummy Prints Edible Image on Lollipops

A neat way to do hard candy lollipops is to pour 1/2 using a clear color, usually lemon or lime since they are clear flavorings. Place the edible picture on top and pour the second half white. It's easy and looks great.

Yummy Prints Edible Image on Chocolate

Using our products to decorate chocolate is easy.  Cast the chocolate and after it cools and is removed from the mold, spread a little warm chocolate to the back of the edible paper and adhere it to the bar. Corn syrup, thinned with a little water, applied to the bar or back of the edible paper works well. Piping gel on the bar or back of the edible paper also works well. Another way is to place the edible paper, face down, in the bottom of the mold and cast the bar.  

EDIBLE GLUE
Edible glue will work on almost any surface that gets hard. 4 teaspoons all-natural egg whites (meringue powder, such as Just Whites, available at most stores) 1/4 cup warm water 3 cups powdered sugar, sifted (optional, but reduce water to a little less than meringue package directions)

Instructions:
Gently stir together egg white powder and water according to directions on the egg white powder package or until completely dissolved. Beat in powdered sugar until thick and smooth. Use immediately.
