Up for bid is another marvelous Dakota Prairie Treasures Spiral Bound Book Republication™ of our original, "Simplified Lessons in Millinery," originally published in 1925!

This HISTORIC item includes general history, use, details and instructions regarding creating the dainty artificial flowers and ribbon trimmings used so artistically the Flapper Era fields of millinery, dress making, clothing and household decorative use! There is even a section on the making of boutonnieres and corsages which would be great if you are planning a wedding! (Original is NOT for sale)

Our new line of Spiral Bound Book Republications™ oh-so-convenie ntly lie flat while in use!

This is a unbelievably nice touch if you have every tried to read a pattern's instructions while your hands are full of your in progress project. As an avid needleworker myself my personal experience prompted my choice of spiral binding for it's ease-of-use alone. I bet you'll love it too!

*** Producing the best CD & Spiral Bound Book Republications for you since 1999! ***

This is a must-have addition to our 108+ Millinery Republication Product Line, many of which are currently listed in our eBay store!

This item is a great resource for those who are historical reenactment enthusiasts, stage and theatre costumers, students of historical millinery, clothing, fiber and textile arts, etc!

Our customers say:

Positive feedback rating "Always a great product and super customer service too. Thanks Linda!!! A+++++"

Positive feedback rating "Smooth transaction, highly recommended!"

This is certainly a fine study on the history of the Flapper Era Millinery and clothing trade. Valuable guidance and inspiration is contained in this item for the creative needlework, fabric & thread artists who desire to study and recreate excellent remakes of the early delicate and dainty millinery and frock styles. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase your own version of another historic arts & crafts guide revealing our heritage.

An excerpt:

"Ribbons, because of the decorative quality inherent in their beauty of texture, color, and design, very naturally suggest themselves as trimmings for garments as well as for numerous other articles...It is knotted and looped and sewed into dainty rosettes for the decoration of infants' garments and accessories; it is made into bows, large ones for finishing sashes and trimming dresses, and smaller ones for adding daintiness to lingerie and children's garments; and it is fashioned into beautiful, naturalistic flowers.

Small, dainty flowers and buds of pastel ribbon always have a place in trimmings used on the lacy, feminine type of lingerie and on the dainty accessories of the boudoir and toilet. Others, similar in nature, of novelty ribbon, are much used on pillows and fancy bags, while larger flowers of quite a different type are effective as boutonnieres and corsages."
