It is a very old version. When I tried to install it to repair my collapsed version of Windows 7 Ultimate, the screen said: "Your version is newer than this version" and so it just couldn't work at all. It was useless!! be careful to install the correct version. there is a folder that keeps track of the version (pro/home/ultimate); if you delete this folder, it is said that you should be able to choose the version. otherwise, if your key doesn't work, you should be able to use the 'repair' option to change the install version so your key will work
