I've been an Apple user for almost my entire life, it has been in the past two years that I finally got to own one, and up until early February 2017 - I now own three Macs. The first ever Mac that I had purchased, and not given to me, was a MacBook that I wanted to use daily to get reacquainted with Mac and limit the use of my daily driver PC laptop. So in usual fashion, upon buying a new laptop, I needed a copy of Office. Given that I probably wouldn't be able to install the older version from 2004 on this Intel based MacBook, I opted to buy this copy of Office. This copy of Office is essentially the Professional Edition of Office, but for the Mac. I am more than intimately familiar with how Office works, so using this was second nature. Let me go over the unboxing experience I've had with this. It wasn't shrink wrapped, so I didn't get to crack any seals, but that goes with the territory of buying a previously used copy. Unsleeving the inner box, feeling the embossed lettering, taking in the elegant graphic design work that had gone into the packaging, was certainly an experience for me. Opening up the cover to reveal the installation guide and the DVD gatefold digipak, I continued to marvel over the artwork. Then there it was, the two discs, the main installation DVD and the bonus content accompanied by a users guide and the product key. Installing took about 20 minutes, simple and straight forward, pretty much as easy as choosing an installation type and where to install it to. The setup for this version of Office has been the most easiest I've ever done. I've been so used to using Outlook for the past almost twenty years, so I thought using Entourage would be much more of a learning curve. It is very much like Outlook 2007, which I use on my IBM ThinkPad. Adding and configuring accounts is a breeze. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint have not changed, the programs are what one would expect if they've ever used a PC before. Overall, for any early Core 2 Duo based Mac, this is an essential purchased.Read full review

I upgraded my Macbook Pro to 10.7.5, and this Office is compatible. It's a bit different to operate than Word for Windows, but similar.
