PANTS: Inseam: measured from the crotch to the bottom hem of the leg
Rise: measured from the crotch to the top of the front waistband
Waist: measured across the top of the actual waistband lying flat
Leg opening: measured across the bottom leg opening hem lying flat
Hips: measured across hips at the base of the zipper/fly
SHIRTS, JACKETS, DRESSES: Chest: measured from armpit to armpit lying flat
Length: measured from mid-shoulder to hem
TO ENSURE A PROPER FIT, I suggest you measure a favorite similar piece of clothing and compare the measurements. If the measurements are similar, you know that the garments will fit nearly the same.
