What we have here is a MITCHELL'S ANCIENT ATLAS containing maps illustrating Classical and Sacred Geography. This atlas is dated 1868. The Atlas contains 9 1/2 pages of "Index To Mitchell's Ancient Atlas" , 1 1/2 pages of " Index To The Maps Of The Sacred Geography", and 8 pages of maps. The cover is in fair shape, can still read most of the writing on the front and back, there is some fading in spots, the binding is worn and frayed on the ends, all the pages are still attached to the binding, there is a couple places on the inside cover where someone has written their name, it says- Anna Scallingood, Mansfield, Ohio in one spot and Anna Scallingood, Oakland, April 4th 1868 in another, there is some normal yellowing and ageing, some dirt stains on the blank pages, the map pages are all in really good shape. Really pretty good shape for as old as it is. Will ship in a hard plastic holder.
