Great bag for those who love to backpack in cooler temps, but can't justify dropping $200+ on a mummy bag. This bag is fairly light and packs down rather small with the compression straps on the storage bag, albeit not as small or lightweight as a down bag. It packs down to abt 1/2 the size that my old Slumberjack 25 degree mummy bag does. This bag is plenty big for me, 6'1"/225lb, but if you're more than a little bigger than that you may want to find a larger bag. The bag seems durable and I have had no problem with it or the zipper yet. On one mid-January backpacking trip last year, temps got down around 20F during the night, and my tent was covered in frost & coated with ice in the morning. I slept on a sleeping pad with the bag unzipped for most of the night, and ended up zipping it up around 2 or 3 am. I stayed warm and toasty. I wouldn't push it lower than 15-20F if you want to stay comfortable, unless you use a liner or something. One thing that you can do with this bag is order one with a left zipper and one with a right zipper, which allows you to zip them together into one large bag. You loose the ability to cinch it around your face when you do this, but you can cuddle, if you're into that. With ours zipped together, we have room for our 60lb Australian Shepherd inside, and he is very appreciative and willing to climb inside on cold nights. This is a great bag that is an excellent option for us budget-minded backpackers.Read full review

Not ultra light or ultra compact, but the sleeping bag would be acceptable for most camping and backpacking experiences. Although the temperature only went down to 20F for us, it would have been fine at 0F (if you understand the temperature rating).
