Maxim Kuznetsov was a FIRST ROUND PICK of the DETROIT RED WINGS (26th overall) in the 1995 Entry Draft. While Detroit usually makes smarter picks in later rounds, this hulking defenseman made the NHL in the year 2000 with the Wings, and played parts of three seasons with them, until he was dispatched to Los Angeles at the tail end of the 2002-03 season. Kuznetsov only played three games with the Kings that year, after suiting up in 53 contests with Detroit, but this "third jersey" was worn by Max in one of those three games! While Kuznetsov was pointless in so many ways, both on the scoresheet and in the defensive zone, he still earns a place in Kings hockey history as they continued on their decades of futility, leading to this past season's Stanley Cup.

Kuznetsov would split the following season between the Kings, where he did rack up his single assist for them, and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, and would then embark on a journey overseas, and finish his playing career in Russia during the 2008-09 season.

you are correct, I just looked at the very bottom of the letter and it states that it's game ISSUED. The body of the letter "confirms that this Third Set 2 jersey was "worn" by MK during the 2002-03 reg. season" so I didn't look further. My apologies.
