You are bidding on * bare root seedlings with vigorous root systems 4-8 inches tall with * leaves born and grown in Hawaii.

There are countless varieties of guava in the world and the prevalent one in Egypt is the yellowish pear-shaped kind with thick white flesh. It contains fewer seeds than some of other guava varieties.

Egyptian Guava are small trees or shrubs with leathery leaves and a bark that peels easily from the branches. They are native to tropical Africa. The fruits are pear shaped, ripening from green to yellow to white. Egyptian Guava is pear-shaped, of medium size, sometimes pink-blushed, with thick, white flesh, few seeds, good flavor and higher ascorbic acid content. Ripe Egyptian Guavas are a pale yellow at their sweetest. It bears well over a long season.

This tree, 20-40ft, has very attractive bark with a smooth satiny sheen and variegated shades of reddish-brown, blondes and grays.

This white skinned fruit has an excellent familiar flavor, tasting of the island flavor known and loved world wide. Fruits are small, to 3-5" around. The very juicy pulp is creamy white inside, very good, creamy and tastes pleasantly spicy.

Egyptian Guava trees do well on the beach areas. It is probably the easiest of the truly 'tropical' fruit trees and are very fast growing. Not fussy on the soil quality, Egyptian Guava produces fruit year after year. If you have only one subtropical fruit, Egyptian Guava should be it.

Egyptian Guava bears fruit after 2 years growth. The fruit is very aromatic and may be eaten fresh or made into a juice or paste for later use. Upon ripening, the guava becomes soft and juicy, then may be eaten fresh, made into a juice or nectar contain fruit pulp, or made into preserves, jam, jelly, or paste.

Guava is rich in vitamins A and C with seeds that are rich in omega-3, omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and especially dietary fiber. A single White Apple Guava fruit contains over four times the amount of vitamin C as a single orange (over 200 mg per 100 g serving) and also has good levels of the dietary minerals. potassium, magnesium, and generally a broad, low-calorie profile of essential nutrients.

Guava is an excellent source of C vitamin. Even though it is rich-tasting and creamy-ish, its calorie count is low and is quite rich in vitamin C.

Guava's are usually eaten fresh or used to flavor beverages, ice creams, and desserts.

Egyptian Guava is highly adaptable to tropical and subtropical environments and can be grown outdoors as far North as the San Francisco Bay Area in California, as well as most areas of Florida and gulf coast states.

Protect from temperatures below 30F, which can cause defoliation. Harder freezes will kill the plant. In cool winter areas, guava's may partially defoliate, but should begin new growth flushes in spring and summer.

Egyptian Guava will fruit in a container. Trees grow well in full sun and with ample water, although short periods of drought will not harm the plant. For proper ripening ample water is needed during fruit development.

Combined Discounts Won Auctions

For 2-3 winning auctions, the combined discount is 10% of the total Shipping and Handling charges. For 4-7 winning auctions, the combined discount is 20% of the total Shipping and Handling charges. For 7+ winning auctions, the combined discount is 30% of the total Shipping and Handling charges.

As each order is packed and prepared separately you will pay the quoted S/H charges individually per item. If you buy the same species in that item it does calculate out the discount (i.e.: additional item $3.61). My stores' combined shipping is built in for same items rather than a varied selection. Includes postage, USDA certification and inspection, proper packing and delivery to Airport for prompt delivery. I can’t really change any of these. If you want one of this and one of that, it gets hard to discount much as each different species requires it's own prep & packing, then at USDA each has to be unwrapped and inspected then repacked. USDA requires me to clean and prepare every last piece before we drive them to the Inspection Station on the other side of the island. It takes my wife and I, a day to pack items and get ready to ship. The whole next day we drive around the island and get inspected (2-3 hours), then drive to the Airport Post Office to drop off. It takes the same work with the same type item if you can understand.

Seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, irrigation, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. These factors are totally out of the seller's control and are the buyer's responsibility and risk. Consequentially, the seller cannot unconditionally guarantee seed to perform properly regardless of conditions or the buyer's methods or mistakes.
