These headphones provide a low-priced option for those who need acceptable sound quality for brief periods of listening. The hard plastic ear "pads" produce discomfort over extended periods of time. Right and Left ear placement is not optional as the design does not accommodate alternate ear placement. The single-line cord provides good transmission, but ear placement in restricted to the molded design.

Sound is what you can expect for a low priced unit. Comfort is none at all since the ear cap has no cushioning so your ears meet a hard shell of plastic. Opted to return but expense doesn't warrant it.

We have several Koss headphones of a different model - they work well but are somewhat delicate. We bought the ED1TC because they're mean for students so we expected them to be more robust. They are more robust but are less comfortable. No foam ear pads and the pressure from the headband is high. This combination makes them uncomfortable to use for long periods.
These headphones are more durable than others we have tried - they have a single thicker wire rather than a thin wire for each earpiece so they don't get pulled out as often. There is no foam on the ear pieces so they are not as comfortable as other types, but that makes them better for public use in libraries and schools (I work at a public K-5), where there are concerns about head lice. I have about 90 pairs in use and they last about twice as long as other models.
Great for classroom use. Can put up with the abuse that students put them through. Not indestructible, but solid quality. Super fast shipping!
