I had first tried these 12 years ago and fell in love with them. After over 5+ years of improper storage, they went out on me and I waited another 5+ years before I decided to buy another set. The sound quality is as I remember, but I noticed that Koss has decided to omit the extra sets of different-shaped ear cushions. The original ones they come with are, in my opinion, a little too hard and not as flexible as they should be. When I pinch them to insert in my ear, the hard plastic base of the earbud scrapes the opening of my ear canal and the cone shape of the cushion doesn't conform to my ear very well. The buds I had before included a cylindrical pair of cushions, similar in texture to the original cones, a softer pair of cones (which I completely wore out) and a hexagonal pair of cushions that were soft as well. Luckily Koss didn't stop making them altogether, they instead decided to sell them separately and milk more money out of us. Although I don't like it, I plan to get these extra cushions so I can enjoy them better again. But I digress, these still are the best sounding earbuds out there after all these years.Read full review
These are a good set of headphones. Good quality sound and comfortable for the price. I think, however, that they will have a limited life span as the foam on the earpieces is already starting to show signs of wear and loose their shape. Evidence that this is possible is that the manufacturer includes a spare set of foam pieces with the purchase. I think the spares will be necessary in the not so distant future.

Better than average sound quality. Bass works if you get the foam earpieces to fit. Pretty much the same as Koss Spark Plug. I've bought and used about 10 pairs total. Good for specialty uses. I use mine in shower and sauna. Really, I do. These are not waterproof and will break in about 4 months if not protected. Using custom water protection (liquid tape, vulcanizing tape...) on the outside black parts will make these last almost a year. Stock foam earpieces are good, but loose their moldability and grip in a couple of months. I make custom earpieces from standard cloced-cell foam earplugs - just punch a hole in the middle. Stock silicone pieces have little grip and they do not provice noise cancellation as well as foams. I haven't found aany better price/quality earphones yet.
First of all it's not only for iPod. I'm using it for an IAudio (Cowan). Pros: very lightweight, cable makes no sound when rubbed. Good sound quality. Comfortable foam type earpieces. Block out noise fairly well. Cons: so lightweight, that I doubt the cable connection to the earbud will last very long. The foam earpieces are bound to deteriorate sooner than rubber, and they only come with an extra set, smaller size. Don't know if any other earpiece, rubber type, would fit. Probably would. Overall, a good value for the money.

i have owned many types of headphones over the years, and the koss brand is one of the best in my opinion, why ?,well i ride a motorcycle and i have tried other brands which are either uncomfortable, don't sit in your ear properly and come out when you put the helmet on,or the sound quality is rubbish. Now i had owned a pair of koss headphones in 1988 and they were great as well so i thought i would see how this brand has progressed.I am impresssed by the sound quality,i am able to wear them for 3 or more hours with out my ears hurting or rubbing on my helmet, and they are easy to clean.
