My name is Hiro Honma. For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about the game of golf. Not just the sport of golf, but all aspects of it. Fact is, for five decades, at my previous company "Honma Golf", I dedicated my life to the design and development of exceptional golf clubs and equipment. After retiring, I settled down to what I had hoped would be a well-earned rest.

But the spirit of the game continued to have a hold on me. I could not abandon my desire to create the perfect golf club. I began to imagine everything I still wanted to achieve, and knew I could achieve. Years of experience had only intensified my urge to develop the ideal golf club.

A certain presence transcends the function of any well-designed tool – the presence of the artist’s imagination. Over centuries, through ceaseless cycles of trial and error, disappointment and triumph, Japanese craftsmen have produced countless objects that are recognized as much for their art as for their function, including katana swords, woodworker’s tools, household utensils, lacquer ware armor. The secret of this achievement is continuous refinement, a co-evolution of art and technique that are always testing defined limits. It is a process reflected in the soul of the artisan himself. As each new level of enhanced function is attained, further artistic possibilities are revealed. It is the mission of the artist to realize these possibilities.

The tools of golf have also evolved over time. Here, too, it is true that something exists beyond the realm of high-tech manufacturing and state-of-the-art materials. A superior golf club is the fusion of art, technology and design. It has no moving parts. It is an extension of will and the golfer’s body. Limited by the parameters of the game, it is nevertheless a tool of expression.

Contributing to the fulfillment of the golfer’s hidden potential is my life’s work. Kentack Golf is the latest embodiment of that work. It is a new company, dedicated to a new concept of golf club design and manufacturing. In your hands, my clubs will speak volumes.
