I really enjoyed this game and always wanted it, so I had to find it and buy it. It's similar to the Marvel Legends games and Marvel Ultimate Alliance style, except that in this one you do have less characters to choose from and you only control 2 at a time instead of 4 alternating characters. The nice thing about only 2 characters is that the camera can be zoomed in closer and you can see everything better. My only piece of advice is that you get points as you're playing the game which lets you cash them in to unlock other characters to play as, and in that respect once you get one Green Lantern character unlocked, avoid unlocking other Green Lanterns until last. Most Green Lantern characters are very unique in the constructs that they create, but this game has two-three different Green Lanterns but their moves are all the exact same. It's a waste of points to have two people who can do the exact same stuff. Otherwise this was a really good game for the XBOX. Worth giving a shot if you can find it.Read full review
If you love DC characters like I do (so I'm a little biased), then Justice League Heroes should be on your list. Virtually being Superman, Wonderwoman, Batman in addition to any of the traditional Justice Leaguers for is awesome! It's even more fun when you've got a friend with you to partner with. Gameplay is familiar: it's like Gauntlet and almost identical to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. But, yes, there are cons: We are all familiar--at least I hope we we're all familiar--with the Justice League and so I would have liked to choose which favorite superhero to play from the start. There's also an option to buy alternate costumes based on the comic books. It's an amusing feature but I wish there was a way to change back in case you don't like the costume upgrade. Bottom line: if you're expecting new gameplay, Justice League Heroes isn't it. Though I like how another person described this game: DC All-Stars! If you're a DC fan and you can't pass up being Superman or Wonderwoman, I'd definitely recommend.Read full review
This is a very good game. Theres a good move customization system, good moves(each character has about 5) and its just overall a good game. The bad things about this game are that this game is pretty short. I beat this game in under two days. But theres a high reply value, so you can play it over on around five different difficulties I think, so you can continue another game with your same character, but on a new save file, or the same one if you want. And theres so many things to unlock in this game that you will probably end up playing this game over a couple times until you unlock it all. So overall this game gets a 4/5.
I grew up on comics and when I found out they were finally doing a game with DC Comics characters, I had to check it out. The game play is fun, but not to complex to get used to. I like that each character has his own special moves based on his powers. As you collect experience points you can level up character's abilities or purchase new ones and by collecting special tokens throughout the levels, you can access characters like Hawkgirl, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and (for some unexplained reason) 2 other Green Lanterns with the same powers as the Green Lantern you start the game with. You can also unlock different uniforms for the core characters (The Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Superman, and Zatanna) which is kind of cool. If you've ever played any of the Balder's Gate series on Xbox, it's very similar. Since I enjoyed those, I enjoyed these. You do play 2 characters at a time, and the computer player can sometimes be an idiot, but it's fun playing with a friend. There are a few gliches, where your computer player will get stuck, but overall the gameplay is smooth. I wish it had been longer, maybe with side missions to complete. I easily completed this in 3-4 hours while finding all the hidden items. There are like 5 difficulty levels, though, and you'll need to go through the game a few times to unlock all the characters and unis. Also in the beginning, you're stuck with whatever 2 characters are predetermined by the game, but get to choose your teams later. The movie sequences and voice work are well done, the characters have some personality, and there are a few good inside jokes throughout the game. It's definitely one I'll break out now and again, so the replay value is pretty good. As I said, if you're a fan of Balder's Gate style RPGs, this should be a winner for you.Read full review
For fans of the DCU, this is a nice chnace to play as some of the premier heroes. The game play is not inspired, but the stoyline is engaging enough to keep your interest. As always, the voice-acting could be better if they used the DCAU stars (Kevin Conroy, Clancy Brown, ect.), but what can you do. I give the game a good rating overall, but it is probably on the low side of good.
