Chivalry may not be dead, but minutes into this snappy battle-of-the-sexes, Alan (Mailhouse) wishes it were. When he pulls over to help a damsel in distress on the side of the freeway he gets much more than a simple thank you from her--which leads the police to arrest him for soliciting a prostitute. His wife Laura (Eastwood) bails him out of prison but summarily evicts him from their home. With no where to go, Alan allows his friends to drag him out to a night club to devise a plot to save his marriage, while Laura's friends and a wild mother-in-law try to offer support with a night on the town... at the same club. Let the show down begin.

the title is better than the movie
There are at least four versions of this title out there-- the 2002/2003 version in 4:3 which is cut by about a minute, a cut that makes it flow much better than the earlier version. The 2002/2003 widescreen version is fully as long as the 1999 widescreen version, but the 1999 full screen (4:3) version is longer yet, even if only by about a minute and a half. The best flowing version is the 2002/2003 full screen version. This is supposed to be a battle of the sexes comedy, but the early set up premise is absurd and at no point does it ever really get back to anywhere near reality-- it just plays around with "what if" scenarios that simply don't match up to real life. There are bare female breasts thirty five seconds into the movie, but from then on the emphasis is on talk, talk, talk, ...
