This is a Japanese smaurai sword Tachi sword set. The blades have been constructed from 440C Stainless steel and it is unedged (unsharpened). This training blades provide for safe drawing for the beginning practitioner of the 450 year old art of Iaido. (Display stand not included)

Blade: The blades of the swords have been constructed from 440C Stainless Steel with a visible temper line. The blades come full tang, unsharpened with a rounded off edge.

Saya (scabbard): Each Saya has been constructed from hardwood with a matt black finish. It has the loops on the scabbard so it can be hung from a belt with the cutting edge down.

Tsuba (hand guard): The Habaki is a one piece brass construction. The Tsuba has been constructed of mixed metal with a Phoenix design.

Sharpening and Blades upgrades:

1) 7 process hand sharpening, additional USD 80. (all three blades will be sharpened to a sharp level and it will be capable of performing basic test cutting), would take 3-5 days. If you want more information about this option please check the following link or contact us.

2) 12 process hand sharpening work, additional USD 120 (all three blades will be upgraded to AISI 1060 carbon steel and sharpened to razor sharp level. It will be capable of performing Tameshigiri - bamboo or tatami mat cutting practices), need 4-7 days to complete.
