Perhaps one of the sexiest Jean Harlow movie scene stills of all time. Only could this image appear in a film or as a still photo in the Pre-Code Hollywood days. The film, directed by the legendary Tod Browning, was about a young lightweight boxer (Ayres) whose gold digging wife leaves him for Hollywood once he fails. When he becomes successful she is back and, along with her lover, makes plans to take his money. The fact that Jean Harlow played a tramp was telegraphed loud and clear throughout the W. R. Burnett story. Harlow – with her trademark platinum blonde hair, beauty mark and heavy pre-MGM makeup – wears a mink-trimmed see-through dressing gown… and nothing is left to the imagination.
