Purchased this for my small dog. This does not work for dogs, only cats due to the distance from the pet collar hanging magnetic pendant and the doors sensor. The instructions indicate that the pendant has to get with 8 inches to activate the door. I tested it and had to get within 4-1/2 inches away. Even for a cat with a smaller head than most dogs, the collar placement may not be close enough to activate the door when the pet's nose tries to push the door open. My small dog was very frustrated since the door would not open. Does not work as described. Product should not be advertised as a "pet" door and should be more accurately described only as a "cat" door. Additionally, the actual distance that the magnetic pendant activates the door should be accurately stated. Not 8 inches, but must be within 4-1/2 inches! Buyer would not reimburse me for the product and I'd like to forewarn potential buyers of this product.Read full review
