Product Information

The wondrous denizens of the diverse marine habitat known as a coral reef are the subject matter of Howard Hill's DEEP SEA 3-D (originally an IMAX presentation). Exploring the reefs throughout the Pacific, Hill's cameras capture a rare close-up glimpse of turtles, shrimp, scallops, sharks, eels, starfish, jellyfish, octopuses, and much more. Thematically, the film examines the balance of life and symbiosis between these creatures. There are the hunters and the hunted, yet there is always another species that keeps the hunters in check, too. Similarly, some species of smaller fish eat by feeding on sea material that collects on some larger fish, which also cleans the larger fish's scales. The continued and necessary persistence of this activity is quite important to the collective survival of the animals, the reef and, indeed, all of humanity. Narrated almost conversationally by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, DEEP SEA 3-D is a thrilling, intimate, and educational look at the unknown depths of the world underwater; enjoyable for kids and adults of any age.

Nice Nature Doc, Good 3D
This would be a very good nature documentary even without the 3D. The 3D definitely adds to it, though. Very nice footage, and informative narration.

Great experience!
This was one of my first 3d movies/videos. I love discovery / nature type documentaries so this was right up my alley. The narration wasn't the best but I wanted it primarily for its 3d so I can look over that part. The narrator is an actor not a speaker for senate. I wish we could have gotten at least another 15 mins out of it to make a full hr long show but oh well. The length is given on the Blu ray and on this web site so no one can really complain about that. I will have to check out all the other sea 3d movies to compare in more detail.

Superb 3d Blu-ray Movie!
This 3d movie, in our home with our 55" Vizio 3d television, is excellent! We already have a lot of 3d movies... and this one is at the top of the list. It is the 3d dvd that I've been showing to friends and relatives, to introduce them to our 3d TV system. The film is narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet; they do a fantastic job and make pertinent comments throughout. The sea creatures are simply marvelous; lots of unique and unusual creatures that are both colorful and interesting! The fish and cephalopods (and other creatures) look spectacular. It often seems as if one is diving and swimming along with them! This film is very well done and is highly recommended!
