This roaster is for European/Asian/South American electricity (220volts, 50 hz).
The much-beloved I-Roast2 roaster is back! This is the latest, improved I-ROAST2 (Version 3, we call it). It is still the most-sophisticated, multiple-profiles, programmable, small home coffee roaster available in the market today. You have the ability to modify both the temperature and the time during the roast. These qualities, up to now, were only available in commercial-grade roasters. Up to 10 such "roasting profiles" can be stored in non-volatile memory (if you unplug the unit, the profiles remain saved.)
In this new version, the two preset roast profiles, P1 & P2, that can be activated at the push of a button have been changed. They used to be medium and dark levels. They have been redesigned so that the presets are for beans that generate little or lots of chaff. Preset 1 is for "chaffier" beans such as Central and South American. Preset 2 is for beans that have medium to light chaff such as Arabic, African, Indonesian and decaffeinated. Below are the Preset Level profile curves or graphs change points:
4 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 375 F
1 minute and 45 seconds, Temp: 420 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 400 F
3 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 335 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 385 F
4 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 385 F
2 minutes and 20 seconds, Temp: 425 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp: 405 F
3 minutes and 30 seconds, Temp: 345 F
1 minute and 0 seconds, Temp 400 F
Once you have mastered the roasting technique, you can experiment with many profiles until you find your favorite one, which can then be stored in memory for future use. You can roast for any kind of coffee maker, including espresso, French Press, drip, vacuum, etc.
I-Roast 2 Improvements
The fit of the chaff collector lid to the chaff collector base is much tighter.
The chaff collector screen fits snugly onto the protrusion groove inside the chaff collector base, so more chaff is collected including the finer one.
The fitting of the chaff collector base onto the roasting pot is improved. A locking mechanism is devised to promote a much tighter .
The thermoflector connection to the roasting pot is strengthened.
Built-in 10 memory function. The user can now save, recall, or delete up to 10 roast profiles.
2 additional roast stages (5 in total) instead of the current 3 stages. Maximum roast time still 15 minutes.

Roasting Tips: One roast will make 24 cups of coffee. To use roaster, lift the chaff collector, add two 1/2 cup scoops (scoop included) of green coffee beans, lock the collector, select a preset (or your own) roasting profile and you are done! Eight to fifteen minutes later (depending on the profile selected) you have fresh roasted coffee. It is very important to empty and clean the chaff collector after every use. Use the included handy brush.
This roaster has a LCD display that shows time, temperature, roasting stages and other functional/processing/error information. The user can set up roasting curves or use two preset ones. At each roasting stage the temperature is shown and can be controlled. The roasting time can be changed by one second increments and roasting temperature can be adjusted by 5 F (2 C) degree increments.
This unit will make a great gift for the "consummate" home coffee roaster or for that special person that "knows a lot about coffee and has everything but a roaster".

A quick primer on fresh-roasted coffee: Most people are amazed to learn that once a coffee bean has been roasted, it starts to lose flavor, slowly at first, but surely in just three days, even if it has not been ground. Over the next three weeks, even more flavor is lost, beyond repair. Most of us don't often have a chance to taste the full flavor of coffee, unless we know a local coffee roaster. Until 50 years ago, this is how coffee was sold, just like milk. Your local coffee roaster delivered freshly roasted beans to your home at regular intervals based on your family's consumption. After WWII, when "development" took place, national coffee roasters started offering "convenient" and "scientifically" packaged coffee and convinced us that "modern" coffee was "just as good" and without all the fuss and mess. Well, guess what, commercial coffee tasted awful, and we just drank it because we wanted the caffeine. The only thing we cared about was the price. No wonder young kids started drinking colas. It also has caffeine, but at least it tastes good and sweet!
Let's go back! With a modern home/professional coffee roaster, like this one, there is no mystery to coffee roasting. Quickly and without any mess, you will be ready to brew a pot of the freshest coffee that you have ever made. Furthermore, once you have started roasting your own coffee, you will be able to savor the truly finest coffees in the world freshly roasted in your own location!
So, go ahead, recover one of the timeless, lost pleasures and start roasting your own coffee today.
