This open edition inkjet reproduction is of a pastel I did in 1990 as an illustration for the book DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS, LIFE IN THE TRIASSIC, written by Nick Fraser and published by Indiana University Press in the fall of 2006. The image represents brackish pool deposits from the Gres a Voltzia Formation near the early Atlantic shore of Triassic France some 230 million years ago. Trapped in a transient pool are fragments of shore plants and various conifer limbs, leaves and a cone, together with the small fish Dipteronotus, a small crayfish, a horseshoe crab and numerous small jellyfish. The reproduction measures 12.25 x 15.65 inches.

The reproduction is printed on a sheet of 13 x 19 inch Epson Premium Luster paper with an Epson 2200 printer using Epson archival Ultrachrome pigmented inks. Properly framed under glass and removed from UV light and atmospheric pollutants, Epson pigmented inks are rated to last 75 years, the paper rated to last 140 years. This reproduction will be printed upon completion of auction, signed by the artist, allowed to dry for 24 hours and shipped unframed, rolled in a stout mailing tube between sheets of soft paper.

Please see my other auctions for a variety of available images.  New and previously auctioned images will be posted regularly.

Yes, there has been a price increase--unavoidable due to costs rising from all quarters. I have tried to make reproductions available for a modest price for those who do not want to buy original works or high priced "limited edition" prints and will continue to do so. Please note that there are several new multiple purchase discount auctions listed in my Ebay store.

As for a bio, I'm a self-taught artist who has focused on scientific illustration representing Earth History in the traditional style of natural history illustration. My color work is predominately pastel and my black and white work is a pencil/graphite dust technique. Most of my work has been aimed at book reproduction and museum exhibits. Over the last 25 years I have, with various degrees of success, worked with a number of paleontologists, writers, editors and museum curators. I've also done preliminary design work and story boarding for a few movies with Disney, 20th Century Fox and a few independent special effect studios.

All of my book illustrations were originally intended for reproduction at a size much smaller than the finished pieces. Good scanners and Epson printers have allowed me to convert my large store of 4x5 color transparencies into very sharp, richly colored reproductions of most all of the work I've done since 1980. The print sizes, while still smaller than the originals, are very much larger than might be found in any book or magazine reproduction. Since I no longer have my work in galleries and am the sole source for these inkjet reproductions, I've turned to Ebay.

I accept Paypal. Shipping cost is $10.00 for Priority US Mail, including insurance. Outside the US, all reproductions are mailed  by USPS Priority Mail International at actual expense--I suggest requesting overseas actual shipping expenses prior to making purchase.

PLEASE SEE THE MULTIPLE PURCHASE DISCOUNT AUCTIONS listed in my Ebay store. For multiple purchases, up to 4 reproductions can be combined in a single heavy-duty 3 inch diameter tube for the same $10.00 shipping cost, insurance included. Up to 8 reproductions can be combined in a heavy-duty 4 inch tube for $16.00 shipping, insurance included and double-boxed.  Orders greater than 8 prints require shipping in multiple tubes enclosed together in a double-box at actual shipping expense--please wait for invoice from me to establish shipping charge. Outside the US, depending on size of order, all reproductions are mailed in heavy-duty 3 or 4 inch tubes and double-boxed.
