Just like the one Grandma had more years ago than I want to think. Sharp blade easy to use. Mounted inside broom closet, out of sight but always available. I have even put it through the dishwasher when needed!

This can opener LOOKS like one from the 50s that I finally wore out but just a month after installing this new one it is worse than the old one. It almost won't puncture a can and then jumps out of the groove several times before it completes the cut. Very disappointed that the build quality doesn't live up to the heritage of the original design.

I was worried that it was a cheap version of the old opener. The lid magnet piece is a little flimsy and screws are way too short but, rest is sturdy and works easily. Needs better mounting options. Provide screw holders for drywall.

I had a SWING AWAY wall mount can opener 50yrs ago and moved and left it on the wall. It makes opening all size cans so much easier for my arthritic hands. I love this gadget! Am SOOO glad I finally found this one again. Living in an apartment means not as much space and being able to mount my SWING AWAY can opener on the wall, out of the way is great. I am right handed and the handle is on the right side. My daughter is left handed and that can be a problem for her. But it is MY can opener and I love it. So much easier to open cans than with a hand held one. Buy it, you will like it!!!!

swing-a-way can openers are a great value. from college days when 6 guys in a house burned up the electric opener and used this, it held up. now in my 70s and losing hand strength, this makes it easy again to get the lids off.
