Unit is great for listeners who want analog inputs primarily , phono stage is strong. Not cluttered with a massive RCA inputs on the back. Initial set up is a little bit tricky analogues one through five don’t really respond until you push auxiliary on the remote than all is good. Great sound for my turntable and CD players. The unit I bought is pre owned and probably 5 years old, iPod input seems to Be Restricted to touch and nano iPod. I have a 160gig earlier iPod which didn’t seem to work. I played with a mini jack to a red and white RCA PLUG . Had to contact to one of analogs on back. That worked, sound seem a little degraded but good enough.

This was a replacement for an older Harmon Kardon in my Carver Yacht. I would have preferred the HK 3770 which has Bluetooth, but those units are discontinued by many vendors, and buying directly from Harmon Kardon is substantially more costly. (I don't know why they would even make a receiver without Bluetooth in 2020.) The sound is great, but there are a few reasons I can't give it a 5 star. There is no longer a switched 120v outlet on the back of the receiver for accessories. The remote is very flaky and choosing channels can prove difficult. Remote is also confusing and very difficult to read, especially in low light conditions and it isn't backlit. Supplied antenna are both rather worthless, at least in my area/application. The yacht has a remote antenna which works perfectly, and using the supplied antennas no AM stations would even come in. The light around the main knob is way too bright even when in the dimmed setting. Face if the unit lacks the feel of quality that my previous unit had, and the controls feel delicate and cheap. None of the buttons are backlit, and I have to get a flashlight to figure out what is what if using the remote. For the money spent, it is ok. The rest of my system is HK and I wanted to keep it that way. However, if doing a full replacement I would probably look at other options.Read full review

I purchased this unit to replace an Onykyo TX8050 that had internet connection issues I couldn't resolve. This unit is much lighter and needs less attention. It seems to want to do everything itself. While there are limited adjustments to sound and dimming the lights (changing them off and on), the sound is very nice. I believe it has better sound quality than my Onkyo that had a bunch of settings for better or for worse. I am very pleased.
