Here for you is an alluring, vintage hand painted milk glass, wood and brass hanging lamp. The shade is double sided with lovely hand painted pink roses and their buds, with a few sprigs of lilac. The hand painting goes down and under the bend in the shade, so that if the piece is over a table you still can see some of the artwork, see photo # 7. On the opposite two sides are little sprigs of lilac. Unfortunately the artist left no signature. There is a thin blue band at the neck then crowned with a soft ruffle. Would really set your kitchen or dining room apart.
The shade is 9 1/4" tall, 5 1/2" across the ruffled top and 4 1/8" across the base. It is 32" at the bottom of the upper section, before the shade angles down toward the fitting. The bottom is intentionally a rough texture. Would make a Wonderful & unexpected gift.
The base is made up of brass and , with two carved wooden pieces, all with a small hanging chain. The body is composed of an open ring (band) to hold the glass shade with the bulb housing inside this area. The ceramic housing is marked Levitron down inside where the bulb fits. There are 3 silver colored metal arms around this ceramic bulb housing. Below the brass band is a wooden piece that connects to the brass arms that go up and around the shade, then connect to the hanging chains. These chains are about 16 1/2" long. The arms are 12" long. Under the arms is a brass covered "cup" that fits over the second wood piece. Small amount of the shiny metal paint is missing here, 1/2" by 1/4". A shiny metal finial at the bottom. Pre packaged weight is 5 pounds.
The ceiling piece is a shiny, smooth piece, see last 2 photos. Underside has 2 labels, the first has Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc., registered symbol, Electric Fixture, Issue C-30669. The second label only has : E 32715. Cloth Covered wire, shows how old this piece is, runs up alongside the chains to the ceiling plate. No open wire. No rust, dents or paint to clean. This piece could go in your kitchen, dining room, over the vanity, bedroom or bath. As I said, a gorgeous piece, would look awesome wherever it was hung.
