Illustrated with a rare folding map, two folding engraved plates and one table. The work contains extensive and precise information about Algeria, and constitutes one of the most reliable 18^th century sources of information on the region. The folding plates show a view of the city of Argel entitled “La Ciudad de Argel” and a bird´s eye view of the port, with several ships and an inset with a view taken from the Sea. The map shows the North African coastline, including the South of Spain. In this Spanish edition, the translator added an account of the taking of Oran by Spanish forces in 1732.

In 8vo. Contemporary calf, spine gilt with raised bands, morocco title label, spine slightly faded and rubbed, else fine. Very clean, repaired tear to one plate, a few foxing spots, else perfect. 4 nn + 347 + 3 pp + 1 [blank] + 4 folding plates.
