Rare ORIGINAL Antique c. 1900's Photograph of the Henry Saunders Grocery & Liquor Store in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Original photo of the Storefront, at 39 & 41 Johnston Street, with views of a large amount of bagged goods & boxes in front of the store with people, customers, clerks, etc., also in front of the store. The name above the door on the building, reads: "H. Saunders" for Henry Saunders and the name on the window; reads: "E.J. Saunders" which I believe was the successor in the Saunders business. 

Photo measures: 6 1/8 inches by 3 5/8 inches

Condition: PLEASE READ: semi-gloss, sepia tone photograph with excellent resolution & details - clean photo with no stains - does have a top right corner tear, which has been taped from the back. The tear looks like it probably was a crease that separated or tore off and had been taped back. There is one other condition issue, which may be difficult to explain, but here goes... when tilting the photo at an angle, to catch the light across the surface of the photograph, you can see what appears to be faint, colorless indentation lines which are traced over details in the photo ie: some of the people, the bags & boxes of good, and some of the architectural features...have been traced over or outlined by someone. When trying to figure why someone one do that, it occurred to me that an artist might trace or outline details in the photo to create a drawing or painting of the photo. You can only see these outlined traces when tilting the photo at an angle, and really does not affect the viewing of the image at all. I just want to make sure that a potential buyer is aware of this, since the scanned images do not pick up these traced outlines at all. Please see scanned images
