Guiseppe Magni ( 1869-1956) " NURSING THE BABY" Oil on Canvas 20"x 28" ( 51x71cm), Framed.

Guiseppe Magni was a noted artist of genre paintings depicting family life of peasants with special reference to women and children. These paintings were in great demand in Italy and throughout Europe in the latter part of the 19th Century.

In this painting the artist shows a tender scene of a mother and her baby in an interior bedroom setting.The artist employs a naturalistic technique to create a warm and sympathetic view of mother and baby in her bedroom. Magni sold many of his paintings during his career based in Florence and this painting is stamped with a copyright notice on the back of the canvas " No 8684 the copyright of this painting is the property of the artist and is strictly reserved".

Condition report: Excellent original condition with no restoration. Framed in a Spanish style frame which has minor damage to the corners.
