For
your consideration a vintage Guild D-40 Acoustic Guitar. This
is a real classic. Plays like a dream. With the warm rich tone that only a
Guild has. Serial number is DC100741, that would make it a 1980 I believe. Guild
has been building dreadnought acoustic guitars since 1963, and their
instruments are revered for their value, reliability, tone, responsiveness,
outstanding projection, and sustain. This is an ORIGINAL D-40. Guild
discontinued this Model in 1991 and has only begun to re-introduce it. This Guild D-40 has a full-bodied, high-volume body style that was developed with an emphasis on string-to-string balance, so that treble, mid and bass registers project evenly. The result is an incredibly musical and versatile dreadnought. Overall condition is excellent. There is a slight ding by the headstock and there is some age related cracking in the lacquer on the bottom right corner on the body and in the upper left of the top that of course doesn't affect the performance and fantastic sound of this guitar. This guitar is over 30 years old and has its obvious tiny cosmetic imperfections that you would expect from a guitar this vintage. Most of them are hard to see and only add character to the instrument anyway. The string action is very comfortable and the
fingerboard and frets are in excellent shape -no fret ware that I can see. The only thing this guitar needs is new strings -I will let the new owner deal with that according to his/her personal preference. Even with worn out strings, its tone is very rich. Comes
with a vintage chipboard case. |
