Gorgeous Griswold Large Block Logo #8 Long Griddle. This is a lovely piece. The back of the griddle is marked with the large block logo, the number 8, CAST IRON GRIDDLE, and the number 771. Each handle is also marked with the number 8. It measures 19-3/4" handle to handle. It is about 10" wide. It is 7/8" tall.
I carefully cleaned this griddle and removed all the rust and gunk accumulated from years of use using the electrolysis method (see my guide on cleaning cast iron). After cleaning, I seasoned the griddle with Crisco. It is clean and ready to use for cooking. This griddle would be awesome on a grill used to sear steaks, over an open fire, or making pancakes, eggs, and bacon all at once!
Please look at the photos carefully. They show the condition of the piece far better than I could describe it. If you need more photos to make a decision, let me know and I will take them and send them to you. If you have questions, please ask before bidding.
I will accept returns only if the piece was inaccurately described or has an unacceptable flaw that was not identified in the photo or description. I do not accept returns if you changed your mind or are not happy with what you purchased. Thank you for understanding.
I collect a bit of vintage cast iron, and many pieces are/will be listed. I presently have Griswold (including ERIE, Victor, and Iron Mountain Iron), Wagner, Wapak, and Favorite Piqua Ware. I also have some vintage Lodge, and some pieces for which I have not yet identified the maker. If you are interested, check out my other items.
All of my cast iron has been carefully restored to the best of my ability - it's a true labor of love for me. I hope that you will enjoy your piece and put it to good use. It will last a lifetime.
If you purchase more than one of my pieces I will combine shipping if the size and weight of the pieces permit. It doesn't always - cast iron is darn heavy, as you know. In the event that you are buying or bidding on more than one of my items, please email me to let me know so that I hold off on packaging your piece. I will then wait until you are done with your purchase, and send you an invoice with the actual shipping cost.
I ship to the lower 48 states only. Please check the shipping charge before you bid. I ship FedEx Home Delivery or USPS Priority Mail. Both can be pricey, depending on the weight and size of the cast iron. I don't pad the shipping charge - I charge a flat fee based on my estimate of what the actual charge will be. I also carefully pack my pieces - cast iron is surprisingly fragile.
Thanks for stopping!
