Your bidding on a fully working lightly used, clean inside and out t.c. electronic Gold Channel digitally enhanced MIC Preamp. The display is clear and scratch free except for a slight mar in the top right area. It does not effect reading the display at all. With way to many features to write about I acquired information from their web site and have listed it below. Ebay for what ever reason will not let me include their website address in this listing so just go to tcelectronics. you know what and you should be able to locate it. Any questions feel free to contact me and I will answer to the best of my knowledge. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.

The Gold Channel, with its 48-96kHz high-resolution processing tools, is
both a microphone preamplifier and a signal processor! With
Mic/Line-level, and Digital in and out’s, you’re able to refine your
original material, even after you’ve captured it, by sending your
recorded signal through the Gold Channel’s tools once again, digital in
to digital out. You can even use it to digitally bounce your processed
tracks to other channels or other recording devices.
sessions, you very often end up doing layer recording, one instrument
at a time. Even though you may only need one high quality channel, Gold
Channel gives you two – linkable for stereo operation to ensure that
you’ve got the ultimate recording tools right at your fingertips. Post
recording mixing-board tweaking will be kept to a minimum with its
superior processing tools. The intuitive, yet sophisticated, user
interface gives you easy access to everything you need. Like driving the
sports car of your dreams, this machine will make you smile from the
day you purchase it.
The two channels built into the Gold Channel are among the best quality microphone preamplifiers you can find on the market.
electronic design is made to sonically preserve the sound of your
source, and remain as neutral as possible. It is up to you to decide how
you want to color your material with the built in processing tools.
we designed the Gold Channel we wanted to combine the best of the
analog and digital worlds, and optimize both into an integrated
solution. This is one of the main reasons why the Gold Channel is a
better choice than buying separate microphone preamps and AD converters.
The Gold Channel contains a fully flexible processing grid, with four
assignable blocks per channel. The processing algorithms can be placed
freely in any of the four blocks.
So if you want to refine the
general EQ before using the Dynamic EQ, or if you want to remove a
vocalist’s “esses” before running it through the vintage compressor, you
can do it in the Gold Channel.
Two expander/gate types are available in the Gold Channel:
· Easy Gate
· Advanced Expander
The easy gate is for removal of low-level noise when on e.g. percussive instruments.
Expander has all the features you can expect from a modern DSP based
tool, including Sidechain key filter, and the ability to use ch. 2 as
The Gold Channel has two distinctively different types of compressors:
· Soft Compressor
· Vintage Compressor
Soft Compressor has all the usual adjustment possibilities like:
Threshold, Ratio, Attack and Release, plus the ability to have channel 2
processing running as Sidechain input and control when loaded in
To gain the benefits of high resolution processing at a resolution of
96kHz, you can either use one channel and gain access to 3 blocks or use
both channels with 1 block available per channel.|
When selecting the 96kHz mode, assigned processing will be running internally at high sample rates.
top of the two basic processing modes, it is possible internally to
route all eight processing blocks in serial, or to split channel 1 input
signal to both processing channels.
You can choose between two types of equalizers in the Gold Channel:
· Five band fully parametric EQ
· Vintage EQ
parametric EQ is a full-blown five band EQ with a frequency range from
20Hz to 20kHz; +/- 18dB gain range and variable bandwidths. Very careful
implementation, dedicated limiters on each EQ band and the 96kHz option
places it among the best sounding EQ’s ever made - and it is digital!
The second type emulates classic analog equalizers, and delivers that
particular EQ curve typical of these oldies but goodies. Even the
user-interface resembles the easy to read knobs of the originals.
A very unique feature in the Gold Channel is the ability to Store and
Recall all settings in a preset location. The Gold Channel even contains
100 factory defaults to choose from. Some factory presets are made for
specific tracking situations like e.g. a Female Vocal, and others are
made to fit specific microphone types.
Presets can be stored and recalled either as Total Recalls, where
everything in the machine is restored, or partial recall where only the
processing or parts of the processing is changed.
User settings can be stored internally at 100 preset locations, or
dumped to an optional PCMCIA card, enabling you to load your most
prestigious settings into another Gold Channel.
With the built in mixing functionality, the Gold Channel can be turned
into a four channel input mixer. Two channels analog and two channels
digital input can be summed on the outputs, or the I/O's can be used for
additional insert in the processing chain.
Standard setup with two microphones on the input side, and multiple output formats to various destinations simultaneously.
The Vintage Compressor algorithm emulates the way classic analog
compressors work and it delivers that very sought after vintage warmth
and quality to your recordings.
Instead of a usual Threshold
parameter, this compressor type works with a fixed internal threshold.
Input Drive and Output Gain adjusts the overall performance of the
The Vintage compressor is not using traditional
feed-forward technology, but is instead designed as a feed-backward
compressor. This makes the Vintage compressor specifically good for
The Tools section on the Gold Channel offers various useful processing tools for tracking and mixing audio.
Dynamic EQ is in fact a De-Esser with extended frequency range,
variable bandwidth, attack, release, etc. It helps you remove unwanted
frequencies dynamically, only affecting the peaks instead of carving a
hole in the overall sound.
An over easy version of the Dynamic EQ is called De-Esser, and includes Sidechain input from Ch. 2 when loaded in Ch. 1.
Radiance Generator (DRG) adds sub-harmonics and can be compared to some
of the virtues you experience when using tube-gear.
The Gold Channel has a very extensive set of I/O's including:
· Analog mic/line level input· Analog line level output
· AES/EBU input and output
· S/PDIF input and output
· Optical S/PDIF or ADAT input and output
· Word Clock input
· MIDI In/Out/Thru
audio outputs are available simultaneously. With the built in software
routing possibilities, the Gold Channel can solve lots of daily
conversion and I/O format problems.
When not tracking, the Gold Channel can be used in digital in/out
configurations, utilizing the extensive processing capabilities further.
