I have collected every Gilmore Girls that have been released on DVD and I have enjoyed the series. THere are things in the show that I do not agree with such as the moral values they have when it comes to sex. THey are NOT very conservative when it comes to morality. I understand that we do not all have the came beliefs and so that is not the reason I didn't rate this as excellent. The reason is because they show tries to throw politics into it occasionally and that bothers me. This is not a political show and I don't like the fact that they will try to push liberal, democratic views onto us. Example: There is one episode (I am not sure which season) in which Layne is taking Rori in to show her her bedroom in her new place that she shared with the guys in her band. On the back of her door is a poster for Ferinheight 9/11. I know a lot of teenagers and not one single one that cares one bit for that movie. It was just a political statement being made by the writers, producers, etc, and I feel it is wrong. Besides this, I do still enjoy the show and the characters. The mother/daughter relationaship is fun and the "extended" family dynamics are also fun to watch. The actors are great and do a great job. Overall I still rate this as Good.Read full review
I'm late to this show obviously. Recently started watching and was immediately hooked by the quirky characters, of which there are many. Lorelei & Rory have the ultimate Mother/Daughter relationship. Luke is a bit of a grouch but so funny and it's obvious from the start how much he cares for both ladies. Dean is a sweet young man and the perfect boyfriend in my opinion (YAY TEAM DEAN). Sookie is so scatter-brained and accident prone but hilarious and a sweet soul. Emily & Richard, in so many ways they seem to be the snobs but with a warm side once you get to know them. I adore Richard, Emily makes me laugh with her and Lorelei's banter at the Friday night dinners. I recommend this show to anyone who wants something lighthearted and fun, great for he entire family.

Already watched the whole season! I LOVE this show!! Love the Mother/Daughter relationship between those two. The other characters are great! Everybody has their own issues to deal with. Very entertaining!

Gilmore Girl’s 4th season is a change from the wonderful, but very wholesome family quality seen in seasons 1-3. The major events being Lorelai breaking ground on the Inn and Rory entering the “Ivy covered halls of Yale University”, gave the writers the freedom to do something completely different from the other seasons. They dropped Rory’s almost doe-like personality and gave her more adult-esq life moments, from starting college to an affair with a married man, (not to mention the return of Jess). Meanwhile, they gave Lorelai the single life she’d never had. Which starts with an almost tear jerking return to an empty house in the first episodes, and ends with a relationship with her father’s business partner. This season also gives more attention, and adds more depth, to the other Stars Hollow residents. Sookie and Jackson become pregnant. Luke starts a serious relationship, and Lane moves out on her own. I personally love all the seasons of this show and watch it faithfully, but I would have to say this one is definitely worth owning, and watching over and over again. As far as the dvd itself goes, I had some problems with the product. Mine fell apart, and had to be repaired, right after I bought it. All the dvds are placed in very thin cases that are pretty much held together by tape, but if it breaks, you can fix it. The extra features on this season have the standard pop up video style on one episode that you see in all the seasons. There’s the usual “gossip and goodies”. A montage of the seasons most romantic moments, and an inter-active trivia game (which is pretty much adorable). Oh, and of course it has the “Gilmore-isms guide”. If you’re a fan of the show, you need this in your collection.Read full review
The Gilmore girls was my daughter and I's favorite shows. The rapid fire wit, and constant influx of the quirks of every day life in a small town always leaves you hungry for ... more. The episodes are like cookies, you can;t have just one. We always watched at least 2 episodes at a time, frequently 4, and occassionally 6. We laughed with them, cried with them, and even yelled at them from our couch. Since my own daughter just graduated High School, and spent the last couple of years doing college searches, applications, Sat's, essays, interviews, and finally was accepted an ivy leage university, we could relate to most of the events going on in the parallel lives of the Gilmore Girls. So the Gilmmore girls, chips and dip entertained many of our summer days. : ) Now we just got the 5th and 6th seasons, and are gearing up for more...Read full review
