Gary Grigsby's Pacific War is a strategy based war game in which the player takes on the role of one of the two leading WWII military leaders that opposed each other in the Pacific theater. All aspects of the war are covered in this huge game that lets you command land, air and sea forces as either the Allied Supreme Commander or the top ranking Japanese military leader. Combining numerous military options that include submarine and merchant shipping considerations, bombing and suicide runs, aircraft carrier impact in the war, theater-wide planning missions and attacks and defenses related to every type of force, Gary Grigsby's Pacific War encompasses nearly the entire spectrum of operations of the Western Alliance and the Japanese Empire. Resource management, troop movement, strategy plans, execution of military orders, reserves, air strikes and deep sea maneuvers are just some of the actions you will be responsible for in this massive turn-based exercise that includes numerous campaigns, each with Japanese and Allied short term objectives built in, such as Campaign '41 (runs from Dec '41 to war's end), Campaign '42 (May '42 to end of war), Rising Sun (same as Campaign '41 from different perspective), Coral Sea/Midway, Guadacanal, the Marianas, and Leyte Gulf.
