Gretsch G5125 hollow body is just a blast to play! It perfectly
captures that “Great Gretsch Sound” because of a pair of U.S.
DeArmond 2000 single-coil pickups and traditional Gretsch hollow body
construction with a sound post beneath the bridge. The sound post really couples the back to the strings and gets all of that wood involved in making sound. The maple neck adds brightness absent in mahogany and is
capped with a rosewood fingerboard and adorned with Neo-Classical
"thumbnail" markers. In another nod to tradition, it has a
floating Bigsby compensated bridge and Bigsby Vibrato tailpiece. It
captures that wobbly vibe perfectly. (Dive bombers need not apply)
This instrument is kitchen clean. It has zero player's wear and not been sold before. I have checked the electronics and they work perfectly. The truss rod has been checked and neck relief was set to .006" at the 8th fret. The frets are smooth, properly crowned and without sharp ends. Like every gloss black guitar, if you look closely enough, you can find a little evidence of shifting during shipping. This "box burn" is nearly universal in high-gloss dark finishes. It is much too faint for any camera to capture, and nothing more than any guitar would have after the first gig. This model is no longer in production. They won't be getting any easier to find, especially in this condition. I'm sorry, but i do not have a case for this one.
